    1. [TNHAWKIN] Wilson Britton 1880 Census Giles county
    2. I found a Wilson Britton in Giles County TN in the 1880 census. 11th Civil District. 198-206 - Britton, Wilson aged 67. No occupation is listed for him. Looks like he and his parents were all born in Tenn. He is living by himself according to the census. I have Britton, Wilsons, Jones' family connections from Hawkins County. I don't know what family this Britton belongs to. By his age he was born about 1813, which is about the same time my Sackett Wilson was born in Hawkins, Co. (1818). Does anyone have information on the person or family? thanks janice

Author: drdjones Surnames: Lawson, Willis Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.tennessee.counties.hawkins/2490.4/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Gaines and John Lawson (who married Mary Ann Davis) were brothers (or half-brothers) and the children of (Malvina) Piney Lawson. Piney Lawson is considered by many to be the daughter or daughter-in-law of Burrell Lawson. There is a lot of controvery about the father(s) of Piney's children. My own belief is that she was a Willis who married a son of Burrell Lawson--probably John Lawson who may have died in Indiana, but many believe that she was the mistress of James Willis. There is no documentation either way. Only a DNA test of the male descendents will help to solve the issue. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. That is an interesting line which frequently intersects with Lawson cousins. Several related Herrons, like Maggie Lawson and Sarah Manis Lawson, had many children out of wedlock, which raises some interesting questions about them.
