I cut and pasted a lot of information and now it is gone! Every generation was rife with Alexanders and Williams. A third generation Alexander had sons named Alexander and William D. It mentions the brothers weddings to the Burton girls and Hawkins County. It does not have Osborne attached to Charity's name. My mom's notes said "family claimed she married an Osborne." On the fourth generation page it does not say a single word about our Alexander or William D. Where can I find the Trent DNA info? Somebody has posted that William Osborne was Charity's first husband and that he died the year after James B.O.T. was born. I found a William Osborne in Grayson County but it had no mention of marriage or death. About the information on gencom on the descendants of Henry Trent...has all that information been verified? There are superscripts after some names (referring to sources) but not after others...does that mean the non-noted names are not verified with official records? We do know from an affidavit that Jane and Charity were married to them in the same ceremony, which could suggest that they were siblings or perhaps cousins or--a troublesome thought--father and son. Remember that the legal marriage age in VA was 14 and 12 during the 1700s and 1800s. It is a good idea to maintain a good level of scepticism about this family's genealogy until someone produces documents to support their position.
