We do know from an affidavit that Jane and Charity were married to them in the same ceremony, which could suggest that they were siblings or perhaps cousins or--a troublesome thought--father and son. Remember that the legal marriage age in VA was 14 and 12 during the 1700s and 1800s. It is a good idea to maintain a good level of scepticism about this family's genealogy until someone produces documents to support their position.
