That may be Hamblen Co. tho am not sure and do not have my records handy. Alexander was a common sailor in Capt. Griffens Co., Continental Navy, Rev. War, born 1751 died 1839. Alexander was captured several times and the last time he was one of only a few suvivors. It took him almost a year to get back to his fellow sailors, he spent time in a prison and in hospitals. I have about 10 to 15 pages of info on him from the National Archives. Very interesting reading, our men and women went thru a lot during that time. Good luck to you. Burrell still could be a misnomer for Bartle too and we know about all of these Barts. Beryl/Burrell/Bartle/Burleigh/Bartley (german pronounciation of Bartle would be Bartley). Look at the tax lists for the breaks in Bart/Bartholomew/Bartle's whereabout / entries it is interesting. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Bob, My Grandfather was Alexander Ballard Sr. He is buried at Creech's Chapel, Whitesburg, TN.
