    1. [TNHAWKIN] Trent, Odom
    2. Hallie Garner
    3. William Madison "Bill" Trent was married Edna Lathim about 1896, probably in Hancock county because they were living there in 1900 and had been married years, which would have made her about 15/16, depending on which birthdate you believe. There are only Trent children living with them in 1900 and 1910. She died in 1918. In 1920 a Mack Odom is living with him and is listed as a stepson. However, he does not have a new wife and is widowed. When he died his wife had been listed as Edna Lathim, so that was likely his last wife. In the 1910 census they are both listed as having been married only once. So how did Mack Odom get to be Wm. Madison Trent's step son? Edna was a little young to have been married before. According to the 1910 census Bill was married only once. Mack was born in 1897, which would have made him born after Edna Bill were married. Incidentally, Mack is listed in several of Bill and Edna's children's obituaries as a stepbrother. This Mack, I believe, is the one that married Ruth Barker in 1921. Can anyone help me here or point me to someone that I might be able to call to get the answer. I've found that people will seldom speak to strangers, but might if someone gave me a referral. Thank you.

    1. [TNHAWKIN] John Richardson and Price Records
    2. Thanks for Prentiss Price information.? Are the records indexed by family name? Are they organized by date?? I have been to Stamps Library many times but failed to ask about these records.?Seek information on John Richardson 1819-1909 married in 1846?to Elizabeth S. Ellis 1824-1899.?I have all the information about their descendants and about the Ellis family but have searched for years for names of John's parents. He was born in NC but came to TN and worked on stage line. Elizabeth was dau of John Ellis of Church Hill. One of their grandchildren was Clarence Henry Richardson 1874-1955 who was Hawkins County Superintendent ?of Schools for many years.Clarence's?father was Guy Hale Richardson 1853-1911.?Clarence could have been interviewed by Mr. Price. I would donate?a nice sum?to any person or organization who could find the names of John's parents. If interested read story starting on page 472 of Families of Hawkins County 1786-1994.?Thanks.?Charles Ray Richardson. Raleigh,! NC.?

    3. A question was asked about Lafayette Mallicoat. I have a Lafayette Mallicoat 1892-1984 that was married to Ida Yount. This Lafayette Mallicoat's parents were Wm. Henderson Mallicoat and Rutha Dalton. However, since you mentioned a different wife this is probably not the one you are looking for. This one is buried at Bethesda Cemetery.

    3. Have the records that Jack Goins and others saved from the basement of the Hawkins County Courthouse been put in a form that are available for sale to the public? I have heard so many valuable records have been cleaned and copied fro safe keeping. Are these/Will these records be for sale? It would be a great way to make money for the Hawkins County Genealogical Society if they were made available.
