Hello, I am researching the Harding's of Davidson co.,Tn (Nashville area). John Harding was born abt.1774 in Davidson county. He came with brother's Benjamin, Josiah, and William to Arkansas around 1820. John settled in Crawford county in western Ar., which was part of the Cherokee Nation then.His son John H.Harding was born in 1825. This John also named his first born son John H.(born Jan 1854 in Grayson county,Tx.)but by now the family name got changed to Hardin. By however you say it or spell it, the Hardin family has survived many generations. The Hardin men were a wild bunch. The women were of strong stock. I am part of the 5th generation.I have not investigated the earlier generations yet. I have been far to busy looking for my granddad John Hardin b.1854/Tx. He seemed to hide from the Census takers until 1900 in Ca. Dianne Hardin in Ca.
