Star, One mistake I see--Louisa Smith Hardin was born in 1822, not 1821 as I have shown. Are you related to this Smith family? My g/g/g/grandparents were Henry and Matilda Smith Reynolds. Matilda was a sister to Daniel and James L. Smith. Some people speculate that Elisha Smith was also a brother. Any idea who their parents were? Jesse Smith was a very early settler at Cerro Gordo as well. His son George Washington Smith, 1815-1872 married Edna Debby Cagle, 1821-1872, who was a sister of my g/g/grandfather John Cagle, 1813-1879. I have not been able to trace this Smith family either.
