    3. Thanks Carolyn, That was exactly what I needed. I have no idea how I misplaced my file. Thanks to you and a couple others, I have recouped most of the material. I have the Civil War Widows Pension application of Mattie Merryman Russell Meadows, the second wife of Joab A. Russell. Recently, I learned that Joab A. Russell, in 1884, was the pastor of Shiloh Methodist Church that was rebuilt on the Shiloh Battlefield after the war. That information appeared in the book written by Dr. Ronnie Fullwood on the subject. My copy of that book is also missing at this moment. Joab married Mattie Merryman in 1885 in Humphreys Co., TN, and according to her, Joab A. Russell died on the 19th February 1893 in Sherman, Grayson Co., TX. Joab's first wife, Jennetta Smith Russell died in the 1870's(?) in the home of her brother, Dr. Pleasant A. Smith. They were children of Daniel Smith the first Sheriff of Hardin Co. That information was printed in a Methodist publication from the Memphis Conference I believe.
