It would appear that Clara Smith would be the daughter of Alexander and Ruthy Sloan. Any comments or clarification would be appreciated. Alex asked for Ruthy Sloan's land for keeping and support of Ruthy. Court ordered that land be sold at public action and money divided. Property (200) Acres was surveyed 8/13/1832 & granted 2/1/1850 grant # 10613 to Ruth Sloan is in Range 6 Sec. 5 on the TN. River. (Page 180) Bullard Sloan & (w) Dorinda; Marian Hogan; John Hogan; Elizabeth Hogan. Property sold to Daniel Smith as highest bidder 6/4/1860 for $400. Plesant Smith James Adams signed a two yrs. note with him. Ruth Sloan died in Hardin Co. TN.(Page 273) $474. ($67.71) to be divided between seven (7) heirs. Page 251- Daniel Smith is dead (court date 2/23/1866) and note has not been paid.
