    3. William Bain (b. 6/19/1767 NC - d.3/26/1844 Hardin Co. TN) married Mary McCrackin (b. 3/5/1772 NC - d.3/8/1850 Hardin Co. TN) on (m.) 9/12/1791 in Mecklenburge County, NC. I have record of his family in 1820 Census at Rutherford Co. TN then in 1830 in Hardin Co. TN. They had 13 children, 8 girls and 5 boys. Last child born 2/20/1810 in NC (Barbara), next child (Smith) b. 1812, where ?? died as a child, and I have speculated that he died in route from NC to TN. First child born in TN (Matilda) b. 1815 Rutherford Co. TN. All of this family wound up in Hardin County, TN. I have researched in Mecklenburge County where I learned their marriage date but know nothing about them prior to 1791. I would like to know interesting facts (routes etc..), about the other familes coming to Hardin County, TN from the Mecklenburge Co. NC. I would also like any earlier info on this William Bain b. 1767 of NC. Thanks, Joe K. This family lived on the west side of the Rocky River in Mecklenburg which became Cabarrus in 1792. Henry Sr. owned land on both sides of Rocky River in Cabarrus and Montgomery Counties. By 1820, Henry Sr. is living in Montgomery. As far as I know his sons remained in Cabarrus until the 1820's. > > With the exception of son, David, all this family eventually moved to Hardin County Tennessee. Charles was in the Hardin Co. George, Henry, Jr and perhaps Henry Sr. moved to New Madrid Co., MO in 1838. There is no further record of Henry Sr. who apparently died in 1838 in either in Hardin Co., TN or New Madrid Co., MO. George was killed by a falling tree in New Madrid in 1840. 3. Joe Keith, Sorry I left Bain off of my NC list. William is my direct line also. I am sure there are others I missed, such as Ezekiel Alexander, 1778-1850; George Wilson Blackwelder came here from Cabarrus Co., NC, but much later than the others. The group I mentioned earlier appear to be very closely related in NC. 3. The Franks and House families also came from Cabarrus County, North Carolina. It seems many of the early settlers of Hardin County were from that area. Jerry W.
