Kathy, I don't know why Houston has so many TN records, but I do know that a lady in Dallas left many thousands of dollars to the genealogical section of the Dallas Public Library, instructing Lloyd Bockstruck to spend the money on TN records. He spent months spending all that money. There is a bank of microfilm drawers filled with records on TN counties: deed, probate, chancery court, newspapers, and many other kinds of records. Lloyd, as always, did a remarkable job on this project.
