Following is information that I obtained about 30 years ago. The information about the Bains and Fowlers of Hardin County can be attributed to my g/grandmother Margaret Fowler Whitlow. She died near Savannah, Hardin Co., TN in 1947. DANIEL FOWLER Daniel was from VA and married Mary Rollins in 1740 (NC?). In 1766 he was granted land in Duplin Co., NC (became Sampson Co. in 1784). Daniel was in the Revolutionary War. He enlisted 01 June 1776, Armstrong Co. 1st Regiment NC Militia and was discharged 28 June 1779. I only know one child of Daniel and Mary Fowler, that being John. JOHN FOWLER John, the son of Daniel and Mary Rollins Fowler was born in Duplin Co., NC in 1747. He married Hannah Sutton in 1765. He was also in the Revolutionary War, (S 16809). John and Hannah had children listed as follows: 1. James Fowler, went to TN in 1808 2. William Fowler married Elizabeth Smith in 1794 3. Samuel, went to TN in 1808 4. Thomas Fowler married Elizabeth _______ 21 Dec. 1786 5. Hardy Fowler, west to TN 1808, never married 6. Martha Fowler, west to TN 1808, never married 7. Beamon Fowler, went to TN in 1808, held KY land warrant in Trigg Co. KY, bought 75 acres of land, (M 1281) 03 April 1823. John and Hannah Sutton Fowler moved south to Columbus Co., NC then went west to Lancaster Co., SC where he lived for 20 years, then moved further west to Pike Co., AL to be near his family. WILLIAM FOWLER William and Elizabeth Smith Fowler came from NC to Lauderdale Co., AL. Their family was as follows: 1. Sterling L. Fowler, 21 Dec. 1807-01 Dec. 1897, married Elizabeth E. Fowler, 29 Oct. 1842 - 29 June 1896, married Nancy Ann Bain, 11 Jan 1866 3. William L. Fowler, 10 Aug. 1844 - May 1933 4. James K. Fowler, 25 Sept. 1846 - 08 April 1919 5. Alowery Fowler, 02 Mar. 1849 - ? died in Tyler TX 6. Elizabeth A. Fowler, 09 April 1851 - 19 Dec. 1885, married George W. Seaton, 29 Apr. 1875 7. Martin L. Fowler, 17 Feb. 1854 - 25 Aug. 1855 8. Margaret Catherine Fowler 28 Jan 1856 - 27 April 1947, died near Savannah in Hardin Co., TN 9. Dillard L. Fowler, 20 Jan. 1860 - 01 Nov. 1922 10. Martin L. Fowler, 28 Aug. 1864 - ? (named after deceased brother) MARGARET CATHERINE FOWLER Maggie was married on 08 January 1880 to Augustus Fitzellen Whitlow, 21 Nov. 1850 - 20 Oct. 1907. Their children were: 1. Nora Fitzellen Whitlow 2. Otis Adolphus Whitlow 3. Ulva Lenoir Whitlow 4. Wheeler Milton Whitlow 5. Charley Augustus Whilow married Elzie Mackie Reynolds (my grandparents, Cagle) 6. Barney L.
