    3. Jeanetta, Thanks fro the response. Allan Freeman of Mecklenburg Co., NC appears to be the ancestor of the Freemans of the Mt. Herman-Bucktown-Cerro Gordo area. We need some proof on some of the lines however. Mecklenburg Co., NC. Will Book C book p. 47(same book as the Charles Polk will). 243, p. 78. ALLEN FREEMAN. 24 Jan 1807, prb in Apr 1807 Ct. I will to my wf Barbara Freeman, during her life, the negro Grace, a third of the land that I now live on, together with the mansion house, and a bed and furniture and bedstead. I will 40 sh to each of my following children: son Gideon Freeman, dau Nancy Wagstaff, son William Freeman, son Allen Freeman, dau Sarah Freeman, son Charles Freeman, to whom I also give the negro Wood, and dau Susannah Garmon. I will to my dau Jemima Freeman, dau of my present wf, the negro girl Matt and a bed and furniture. I will to my son Isham the negro Joe, a bed and furniture, and all the land that I am now possessed of shall descend to sd Isham including the third reserved to my wf during her life. I will to my dau Peggy the negro Charlotte and a bed and furniture. The remainder of my property is to be sold, and, after all legal expenses are paid, the residue is to be divided among my 12 legatees Exrs: Worthy friends Charles T. Alexander and Jeremiah Cloutz. Wit: John Long, Jurat, and Jacob Long. Isaac Alexander, CMC. 1. Gideon Freeman married Deborah Polk, the daughter of Capt. Charles Polk. Deborah appears in the 1830 and 1840 census of Hardin Co. TN. Their daughter Elizabeth married George Cagle. 2. Jemima Freeman married William H. Shelby who later moved to Hardin County and married Martha Washing Polk, sister of Deborah Polk. Martha was the widow of Moses A. Shelby who died in Hardin Co. in 1834. She then married Samuel Wells who died before 1850. Martha married William H. Shelby on 18 Oct. 1854 according to the Harmony Church Book. 3. Jeremiah Clontz, co-executor of the Allan Freeman will was the father of Catherine Clontz Polk, the wife of Charles T. Polk. They were my g/g/g/grandparents and are buried at their old home place about a quarter mile east of where I live. I don't have any proof on William P. Freeman. Need some help here.
