    1. Re: [TNHARDIN] (no subject changed to Garner-Wilson)
    2. Dear Deborah, Thanks for your reply. I'm curious about the assertion that this Garner (Sarah Jane's) familly has been researched back to the 1400s. I'm pretty sure they are not part of the Garner-Keene family of Virginia's Northern Neck--I also research what I believe is a part of that family. I believe the Fushee/Foushee etc. Garners belong to the Garner-Keene bunch, but have no proof at hand. My Peter and Sarah Jane Wilson, brother and sister, I believe descend from a German family, distinct from the Garner-Keenes although both were in Moore County, North Carolina. As to the Ream or Reams name, I've tried to be creative with spelling (Reim, Riem, Rheam, and I don't know how many more) and only found one on the census that is even close. That doesn't mean Elizabeth's name was not Ream, but I just can't find anything. I've uploaded direct ancestors' bios to Rootsweb's WorldConnect in database lniemanngba (the first character is lower case L, not the number one). I can't remember exactly what I wrote about John and Elizabeth, but what I could prove and some conjectures are there. Word's formatting is lost as I paste bios into my gen. program, so a different font I used for conjectures doesn't show up, nor do Italics etc. The footnotes are there. The foreword to the book, the index and other info about the book, instead of his bio, is found in the notes of Bennie Fay Garner at that database. My notes do not say any other information on proof.? I have seen the name on ancestry.com as well, but have only recently (in the last 10 years) been compiling proof for everything I find.? I received John Fushee Garner, the middle name from a Garner researcher, who had Garners back to the 1400s or before, and he had documents that cooborated everything I had...I always ask for proof from researchers, but it doesn't always come back to me...in my computer notes, I do not have this researcher named...it may be in my regular file.? Everything I have, is basically the same as what you say, they lived in Taney Co MO, and moved to AR, I have two areas mentioned.? I have John Fushee Garner born in Moore Co NC. > > I have Peter Garner married to Susan Jackson b. 1808 GA, and the only child I have listed is John Garner, b. 1832, one son listed Elijah Garner...of course I'm sure there are more children, but I received a bit of info years ago, and that is what was in there. > > Thank you for the information! > > Deborah > > > -----Original Message----- > From: LNiemannG@navix.net > To: TNHARDIN@rootsweb.com > Sent: Tue, 16 Oct 2007 1:21 pm > Subject: [TNHARDIN] (no subject) > > > > Dear listers, > > Unfortunately this will start a new thread, because I couldn't reply on the list > due to not being subscribed until today, having > received messages containing the name Garner on my Rootsweb PML. 1. Re: [TNHARDIN] Garner-Wilson)
    2. Hello again, Do I understand you to say that Sarah Jane Garner is NOT the daughter of John Fushee Garner?? Mabye you are saying that Sarah Jane's father John F. Garner, which is documented, is not the John Fushee Garner from the other information?? And Sarah Jane's father, John F. Garner, does not belong to the John Fushee Garner family tree (?)...please let me know, because if this has been proven to be true, and those two are NOT one and the same, then I need to reflect that in my information... I'm more the armchair researcher, talking to relatives with a bit of library research (and now internet research) and you sound like the researcher who has everything documented at least two different ways, which is why I have refrained from putting my information ONLINE, because I only feel it should be online if it has been properly researched.? However, some of the people I have shared information with have not been as ethical, and have put the information I have shared with them online.? This has created problems, since I've changed information in my database constantly to reflect new information and proof.? I'm sure you have the same issues perhaps. In Browns book on McNairy Co TN: (and also in 1880 census) 5 Garner brothers settled in McNairy Co TN, 5 Garner brothers settled in Henderson Co TN; they all came from Moore Co NC. I did come across William Reams on ancestry.com, spouse is Naomi Vaughn, born in Surry Co Black Water Dist, VA 28 Dec 1768, they were married 1788 in Jack Swamp, Northampton Co, NC, and this William died in Logan Co 12 Jun 1844.? Two of his children, a John Reams b. Dec 1770 & a William Reams b. 1760 both had daughters by the name Elizabeth Reams in the time frame that would fit the Elizabeth who married John F Garner.? There were no other possibilities that I came across. Well, got to go, talk with you soon!
