Judy, I note that you are/were interested in the Pitts family in Hardin Co.--particularly that group who settled on the west side of the Tennessee River. It appears that Levi Pitts from SC and a large family came into Wayne Co., TN before 1840. In 1850, living among them is John Franklin Pits, b.1823 NC. Family charts I have seen of the Levi Pitts family does not mention John F. Pitts. John is the ancestor of the Pitts clan that lived at Cerro Gordo. Do you know anything about these people?
