    3. Since this software seems to be the one most genealogists on line use. I thought I'd pass along a word of warning from another board I subscribe to. I might add that it would be wise to burn a CD of the file if you have the file sent to you rather than pay for the physical CD. So, if your loved ones are considering giving you an up grade for Christmas, Birthday, Arbor Day, etc. Don't let them waste their money until the problems with this version are ironed out. I can tell you that even with focus group feedback, it just seems like some software comes out doomed from over tweaking. The following comment has generated a flurry of "amen"s. There are some things you just don't mess with and one of them is the genealogy database. Maybe the better gift would be an external HD that backs up Everything, everyday. "I know a lot of us are unhappy with the ftm 2008 so If anyone is still looking to by the old ftm2006/v16 instead of the crappy new ftm2008 then I found a site that is still selling it at http://www.familyhistory101.com/ftm2006.html " Kathy

    3. Kathy, Thanks so much for the heads up. I was planning on making that upgrade, and you have saved me both the money and the pain of dealing with a bad version. Lynne Bratton
