I am trying to find the link to Elias Polks Civil War unit. I use to have it but my PC crashed and I am trying to recover this He was in the Army of Northern Virginia. Elias was Hardin county Tennessee boy. His unit has a web page and I would love to locate it again. At the time of his enlistment in Company B, 1st VA Battalion, the unit was serving as provost guard (military police) for the Army of Northern Virginia. His commanding officer was Maj. David B. Bridgford and his company officers were Capt. William Overton, 1st Lt. Charles A. Baskerville, 2nd Lt. C.M. Smith, and 2nd Lt. John Beckham. Capt. Overton was a graduate of VMI and generally considered a good officer. Jim Ewart of Chesapeake, Va sent this to me one time but I do not know how to contact him any more.
