Elias was from Tennessee Hardin County. How he ended up in a Virginia Unit I do not know. Elias was a private in the Confederate States Army, a private of Company B 1st Battery VA Infantry. This unit was known as the Irish Battalion. It served as Provost Guard in the Army of Northern Virginia. He was a prisoner of war being held by the Army of Northern Virginia. He was paroled and let go home to remain undisturbed for the duration on April 10, 1865. His discharge records are at the Appomattox court house in Virginia. See below. Original owned by Eythle Polk Stephen of Mountain View, MO. Elias was born in Savannah, Tennessee I believe. He died in Howell County, Missouri in 1936. I have a copy of a picture of part of his unit First Virginia Battalion Co. A. Robert L King GG grandson to Elias. ************************************** See what's new at http://www.aol.com
