    3. A point of information ... If the soldier's WIDOW received a pension you can get a LOT more information (usually) by sending for the widow's pension records. I did this in 2004 ... for a cost of only $37 I received 40 or 50 pages of affidavits and letters back and forth. The widow's pension records INCLUDE the soldier's pension records. My gr-gr-grandfather's widow received $12 per month for all her efforts.
