    3. Gil, I have some ties to the Joseph Davis family of Hardin Creek. Uncle Henry Overton Cagle, 1842-1899, married Isabella Frances "Fanny" Davis ca 1868. He went to AR with his first cousin's widow and left Fanny holding the bag, so to speak. That's a good story. Your excuse is ok for missing the meeting, see you next time. Are you by chance related to the Allen Davis family that lived at Olive Hill area? His daughter married Stanley Todd who was wifes Grandmother through their daughter Grace Todd who married Robert White. In 1917 Stanley bought a farm at Box Elder ,just up the hill from Beason Creek off Coffee landing road. He had a 400 acre Farm and later a sawmill during WWII. Suprise: It was the very same spot that my GGgfather John Gilchrist settled on in the 1830's with his second wife and two daughters. He was a slave owner and Hardin Cty Commissioner before he died in 1852. His Will is on file in loose wills in Ct House. In 1947 this 17 year old kid drove ole dads car to the same place and picked up a little blond headed gal for a first date.Been married to her for 57 yrs and counting. We learned this suprise when we were looking at records in the Registars office in Savannah a few years ago while doing King White research and found land grants to ole John that matched the calls of the Todd place....Suprise Cheers , Gil Sorry we missed the His Soc meeting last, but had a very important Quinco board Mtg I couldn't miss. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ No virus found in this incoming message. 3. I also have a Hardin County, TN Davis line that I have tried to tack down for several years with no results. Maybe this will ring a bell with someone. The 1850 Hardin County census lists Jane (ca 1830 TN), John M (ca 1834 TN) and James W Davis (ca 1836 TN) living in the household of William Burris. (indexed as Bunis) in District 2. William Burris married Catherine Davis in Lawrence County on November 19, 1835. I believe Catherine had another daughter, Hannah (ca 1825 TN), who married Henry C Kemp. Catherine (maiden name unknown) Davis Burris also had three children by her marriage to William Burris. I have tracked all of William's children by his fiirst marriage to Elizabeth Bailey and I have tracked William and Catherine's children, but I no confirmed information on Catherine's children by her first marriage or the name of her first husband. If anyone has information on this family, I would appreciate your help. Jennie Burris Little
