    3. The Callens family in Hardin County was headed by Thomas who appears to have arrived in Hardin Co., TN about 1834. The 1840 census shows the following: 1840 Census, Hardin Co., TN Thomas Callens 213001-010001 Thomas died and was buried in Goshen Cemetery at Swift. 03/06/1802-12/17/1845. His wife Margaret Polk Callens is buried there also. 05/17/1804-01/02/1873. 1850 Census, Hardin Co., TN 43 Margaret (Polk) Callens 45 NC 2nd C. D.
