There doesn't seem to be a connection, at this point, but I am researching the George Washington Phillips family which lived in Hardin and Wayne counties. He was my ggrandfather and was originally from Sand Mountain, Ala. He was married to Druscilla Melson in 1889 and had the following children: Etta, Gilbert, Virgie Bell, Elmer, Jim, Beula and Opal.
