James in the 1840 census is the only time a James White appears in the 1820, 1830,1840 and 1850 censuses of Hardin Co. TN It is my opinion that all of the Whites listed, following, are related and most of them are children of Thomas White shown in the 1830 census of Hardin Co. I am not sure exactly how Terrell White is related, perhaps a nephew? Terrell, according to one researcher, was the son of Charles White, Jr. of Williamson Co., then Hickman, then Wayne and finally Hardin County, settling on the Wayne-Hardin Co. line at Flat Gap near Olive Hill. The Thomas White family lived in this area for many years, with descendants still owning land in that area.
