Inez, Eli and Thomas Cupples were members of Company A, 21st Wilson's Tennessee Cavalry Regiment, CSA, organized in 1863 in Hardin County largely from other units. It appears that Eli and Thomas may have originally belonged to B Company, 31st Tennessee Infantry Regiment, CSA, organized in McNairy Co., TN in 1861. I don't know why Eli does not show in the 1860 or 70 census for Hardin Co. David
