Brazelton Researcher, Brazelton Cemetery is located in the extreme northwest corner of Hardin County near Hurricane Creek, about three miles east of Milledgeville Tennessee. There are 17 Brazeltons, a Berry and two named Sellars in the Cemetery. The data for this cemetery can be accessed through the Hardin County Historical Society Page. The person with the earliest birth date in the cemetery is that of Mary Berry who was born in 1769. Solomon Brazelton and Elizabeth Brazelton were both born in 1794 and both died in 1861. According to the " History of Hardin County" written by B. G. Brazelton in 1885, among the first settlers to reach Hardin County in 1816 were John and Hannah Brazelton and their children, Solomon, Benjamin, William, Elizabeth, Sarah and Nancy Brazelton and Elender Brazelton Thacker. The grandfather of John, above, also named John Brazelton came to this country from Wales before the American Revolution and settled in Frederick Co., MD John Brazelton who arrived in Hardin Co., TN in 1816, died on September 20, 1816 and is buried near Altom Springs. He is purported to be the first white man to die in Hardin Co.
