Paul W. (they called him Bud) KIDDY, Hardin Co TN pg 52-1, PVT, Co B, 2nd TN Cavalry, enlisted Oct 10, 1863, Adamsville Post Office. I have seen this unit referred to as 2nd TN mounted Infantry, USV, in the 1997 Vol 10, p126 of the Wayne Co Newsletter. (son of James and Elizabeth KIDDY who was son of Jasper/Jacob KIDDY and Sarah who were from Rockbridge Co VA (1800), living in Wayne Co 1860--Paul was brother to my ancestor Carmack Kiddy, also in Wayne Co 1860. I am in contact with Paul's descendant Rick KIDDY and his sister Marsha (Kiddy) Owens.) 2. James H. KIDDY, Wayne Co-178-1, PVT, H Co, 6th TN Cavalry, April 5, 1863-July 26, 1865, Light Post Office. (J.H. Kiddy m. Martha Allen Nov 4, 1866 Wayne Co TN. In Wayne Co 1880 census with wife Martha J. and son Charles born 1872 TN. 3. Thomas KIDDY, Hardin Co-52-2, PVT E Co, 7th TN Infantry, 1863-1865, Hurley Post Office. (note: believe he is Thomas H. These units were all mustered into service around Lawrence, Wayne, Giles Counties TN and Lauderdale Co AL. This is new information provided 29 Apr 98 by wbradley@unaalpha.una.edu, who had an ancestor in the Co B, 19th CAV. These unit designations are a little different than above on KIDDY Confederate Soldiers: 1. James H. KIDDY TN 54th INF, Hollis' Company 2. Lewis W. KIDDY TN 19th CAV. (Biffles CAV.) Company B 3. Paul W. KIDDY TM 54th INF, Hollis' Company The 19th CAV was the 9th when it was first mustered into service, The Lawrence County (AL) Advocate ran a photo in last Sunday's paper which showed a reunion of Lawrence Co Confederates ca. 1903.
