    1. [TNHARDIN-L] Walnut Grove
    2. Mac Lambert
    3. Walnut Grove is now between Savannah Tenn. and Florence Ala., 15 miles south of Savannah on highway 69, but until 1938 it was on neither Hollands Creek or Dry Creek. It was next to Ala. state line on the Tennessee River, near Waites Cemetery, the postoffice was there, the school was past Paulk Landing toward Bruton. It was moved in 1938 when Pickwick Lake backwaters covered all the farm land. The school building itself was moved and became Walnut Grove school and Church combined, when the new school was built, it was moved again and is now the Walnut Grove Church of Christ. Any census records before 1940 are of the Walnut Grove on the river, most of present day Walnut Grove would have had a Lowryville address. Mac Lambert
