Hi, Let me add some more concerning Welch's. Perhaps someone has the answer. John Wesley Delaney, son of John W. Delaney both of Hardin County, TN, married sometime before the 1850 census, probably in Hardin Co - I have not found record of marriage yet. His wife was Martha L.- I'm told Welch. In 1848, John Wesley bought 2 lots in Decaturville and he is listed on the 1850 census as hotel keeper with wife Martha . One of their boarders was James A. Welch age 23. I would want to think that James was probably a brother, but I haven't found a Welch family in Hardin Co that these 2 fit in. Any ideas?
