    3. Appeared in the Independent Appeal Wednesday, April 14, 1999 DEWEY E. MAYFIELD, age 76, died on Sun., Apr. 11, at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth of Cardiac Arrest. He was a retired Smith & Brennon Construction worker in St. Louis, MO and he also worked for McNairy County School System as Custodian at Ramer School. Services took place at 1 pm on Tues. Apr. 13 at Shackelford Chapel. Burial was held at Holley Cemetery in Corinth, MS. Mr. Mayfield was preceded in death by his wife, Erna C. McAnelly Mayfield, three brothers, James, Milford, and Charlie Mayfield. His parents McKinley W. and Cinda Ann Plunk Mayfield. Mr. Mayfield is survived by his sister Marybell Tyson of Corinth, Miss., one daughter Patricia Robertson of Effingham, IL, and his brother, Winfred Mayfield of Fairhope, AL. He had 3 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, several nieces, 7 nephews, great nieces and nephews and gr-gr-nieces and nephews. ..>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> LEOTA BURRUSS, formerly of Lexington, died on Tues., Apr. 6, 1999 at Huntsville Hospital in Huntsville, ALA. of heart failure. Mrs Burruss was age 83, and was a retired nurse - LPN Services for Mrs. Burruss took place at 2 pm on Fri., Apr. 9, at the Chapel of Pafford Funeral Home in Lexington, TN. Burial was held at Henderson Co. Memorial Gardens in Lexington. Francis Bryant Cunningham, and his daughter Brenda S. Campbell of Pickwick Dam, and son James Paul Cunningham of Pickwick Dam. He was a retired Foreman of T.V.A. as well as a member of Union Grove Baptist Church in Beach Bluff, TN, a Mason of Lodge #332, and a Lifetime member of Carpenters Local #259. Services took place at 1 pm on Fri. Apr 9, at Shackelford Chapel. Burial was held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Selmer. Pallbearers were Michael Stewart, Donald Saunier, Jerry Scott, David Farrell, Lloyd Ryan and Brad Hawkins. Mr. Goodrum was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Miller Goodrum. Mr. Goodrum was the son of Nathaniel Eli Goodrum and Minnie Kirk Goodrum, who preceded him in death. Mr. Goodrum leaves behind his daughters, Anna Weir of Jackson, Virginia Saunier of Memphis, Earline Acree of Jackson, Martha Britt of Beach Bluff, Rebecca Holland of Athens, Ala., Dot Scott of South Bend, Ind., Peggy Ryan of Jackson, and his sons Billy Joe Goodrum of Jackson and Kenneth Hawkins off Selmer. Leonard, Kim Holley, Rickey Roten, David Keller. W. T. Yarbrough, Steve Ellsworth. Mrs. Pipkins was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Pipkins, and her parents, William Robert �Bob� and Grace Blakley Moore. She is survived by her daughters, Lynn Moore King, Tina Pipkins, and Lee Pipkins, her son R. C. �Bob� Pipkins, all of Selmer, step-son, Randy Pipkins of Florence, Ala. She is also survived by a daughter-in-law, Frances pipkins and a friend, Teresa Whitworth who helped take care of her.
