I note that he had two slaves in 1840. Also, his son Henry C. Ruth was a member of "A" Co., 2nd Mounted Infantry stationed at Clifton. I have not answered your question. I have found nothing that would indicate that Samuel Ruth lived at Cerro Gordo. Another place we can check is the deeds. I can't do that until I can get to the Courthouse. I note that Samuel was a Brick Mason and that other members of his family followed that profession. When I built my house at Cerro Gordo in 1976, a Ruth father and son team did a lot of the Brick and Stone work. They did excellent work. David Cerro Gordo Ramona R.
