He was retired from brown Shoe & General Electric. He attended the Little Hatchie Primitive Baptist Church. He was also in the U. S. Army in WWII and a VFW of Cornith MS Post. Services took place at 1 p.m. Thurs. Apr. 15 at Shackelford Chapel. Services were held by Cecil Woodruff and Paul Weaver. Burial was held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Selmer. Mr. Hurst is survived by his wife, Mary Jo Johnson Hurst. He is also survived by three sisters Mildred Weaver of Henderson, Marie Causey of Bernie, MO, Larue Moore of Selmer, and two brothers, Thurman Hurst of Bethel Springs, and Parker Hurst of Bethel Springs. He is also survived by some nieces and nephews. Services were held by Tony Moss. Burial was held at Mars Hill Cemetery in Adamsville. Mr. Helton is survived by one daughter, Theresa Ferraro of Hamilton, Miss., and three brothers Gary Helton, and Hamilton, Miss, Johnny Helton of Meridian, Miss. and Bobby Helton of Columbus, Miss. He is also survived by one sister, Essie Mae Burkeens of Covington, and two brothers, Evertt Ray Helton of Coldwater, Miss, and Fred Helton of Finger. Mr. Helton is preceded in death by a son, Richard E. Helton and one brother, Jessie Helton. He was a retired director of Employee and Customer Relations for Pickwick Electric Co-Op. He also attended First Baptist church in Selmer, where he served as Deacon; Executive Board - West TN Area Council, Boy Scouts of America; past president, McNairy County chamber of Commerce; past president, Selmer Rotary and Lions Clubs; U.S. Army Veteran of World War Ii, European Theater. Mr. Landreth was also very active in industrial recruiting for McNairy County. He was instrumental in bringing General Electric into McNairy Co. Services took place at 11 a.m. on Fri., Apr. 16 at Shackelford Chapel with Dr. Bob Elliott, Rev. Max Walker, and Dr. Matt Tomlin officiating. Burial was held at Oak Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ronnie Sleeper, Ken Patrick, Todd Sleeper, Joe Franks, Beck Curtis, John Patrick. Honorary Bearers were Steve Smith, Bill Roberts, Harold Robison, Clayton Ott, Carl Dudley, Maurice Hamm, Kenneth Chambers, Bob Hanna, Vernon Jenkins, Richard Mitchell and al the members of his Sunday School class. Mr. Landreth is survived by his wife rosemary Patrick Landreth. He is also survived by two sons, N. David Landreth of Selmer and T. Patrick Landreth also of Selmer. He had 2 grandchildren, Bailey and Wes Landreth of Selmer. Also surviving is one brother-in-law, Harold Patrick of Corinth, Miss. She was born on Jan. 30, 1942, in Bolivar, daughter of the late George T., Sr., and Lucille Birmingham Greene and lived her life in Hardeman county. She worked as a bookkeeper for many years with Western Auto and L & L Trucking in Bolivar and was also a floral designer. Her hobbies included collecting antiques, restoring old homes and working with flowers. Mrs. Brooks attended Hornsby Baptist church. Mrs. Brooks is survived by her husband of 39 years, Tommy Brooks of Bolivar, a daughter, Nicole Brooks Russell of Bolivar, a son, Glenn Allen Brooks of Bolivar, and several nieces and nephews. Services took place at 3:30 p.m. Sat., Apr. 17 at Cobb Funeral Home in Blytheville, Ark. Burial was held at Elmwood Cemetery. Mr. Taylor is survived by his wife, Mary Seals Taylor, by a daughter, Doris Bryeans of Blytheville, Ark, and three brothers, David R. Taylor of Ramer, Jerry Taylor of Beech Bluff, TN and Terry R. Taylor of Selmer. He is also survived by four sisters, Beulah Warren, Dessie M. Jones, Mary Cardwell, al of Blytheville, Ark.
