Deborah, Ellender Thacker, b. ca 1793, was among the first organized group of settlers that came to the Hardin County area before it was a county in 1816 She came with her two children, William and Shepperd. She was a Brazelton whose husband had died before 1816. B. G. Brazelton wrote in 1885, "A History of Hardin County," in which he states that Shepperd was the youngest child of Ellender and 10 years old in 1816. The census information would indicate that he was only 1 or 2 years old at that time. She did not have any daughters that I know of. The gravestone of Sheppard Thacker shows: 10/06/1814- 01/22/1899 I don't know what happened to the brother of Sheppard? I am also posting this message to the list. Perhaps there is an answer there?
