He was a retired carpenter, member of the Hallsville Baptist Church in Hallsville, Texas, VFW, U.S. Army Veteran-World War II. Graveside services took place at 3 pm on Fri. Feb. 26, 1999. Burial was held at Mt. Gilead Cem. In Bethel Springs. Officiating the services was Minister Ritchie Willard. Mr. Smith was preceded inn death by his parents, Johnnie Driggers Smith and Grover Cleveland Smith. He is survived by two daughters, Patsy VanBenthusen of Webb City, Mo., and Alice Garrison of Bethel Springs, one brother, William Earl Smith of Edgewood, Texas, three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. >>>>>>>>>>> CORENE HOLLAND, age 70, died on Feb. 27, 1999, at her home.
