    3. No, Rachel (John W. Morrow's wife) was C.C. Harlan's half-sister. C.C.Harlan and Rachel Baird were both children of Cynthia Sweeton Harlan Baird. And thanks so much for the information on the Archives records. I will have to get a copy of these!! The name Cynthia (Sweeton) Harlan is a familiar one to me. I didn't realize she had remarried. I started working on my family history last year during a trip to D.C. I went back last month and found the military records for my 2nd(?) Great Grandfather, C.C. Harlan. In the pension records I found mention of a first marriage for C. C. to Mary Christian. There were a couple of records stating that Mary had died, one was from J.W. Morrow and R.M Morrow testifying to the death of Mary Harlan, it says that her remains were brought to their house for burial in the old family burying ground, and was buried there. J.W. was 74 and R.M. was 65. They were help helpful in the pension application process. So let me get this straight- J.W. would be C. C. Harlan's Step father? Sandy Vicky Hutchings wrote: > J.W.
