    1. [TNHARDIN] Charles Alexander/Harriett Brawley
    2. Henry & Nancy Hanson
    3. Carolyn and Gail, I have a Charles G. Alexander married to Harriett Brawley the parents of Benjamin Cathie Alexander. Benjamin Cathie married Martha Angeline Clayton and they had ten children. The Clayton line is one of my maternal lines and I have a cousin that's grandmother was Ollie Pearl Alexander that married Mitchell Perry Newman. The only reason I have this information is because the connection to Martha Angeline Clayton and her connection to the Bingham's. Benjamin Cathie and Martha Angeline are both buried in the Shady Grove Cemetery in Hardin County, Tennessee and Ollie Pearl is buried in the Newman Cemetery in Hardin County, Tennessee. Are you interested? Henry Hanson College Station, TX. hah@suddenlink.net

    3. Berl, I recalled that my ggrandfather, Iassic A. Van Hoose 1856-1939 is shown living in Hardin County, TN in 1910 with his 2nd wife, Armintha, "Minte" and their six children. In their household is also listed Cora Freshour, age 17, and listed as Niece. ( I am sending the attachment of the Census Record in a separate e-mail). If any of these names are mentioned in your research, please let me know. Note: Do not forget to increase print size at top of document. Thanks, Drexel Hendon Germantown, TN PS: Ike's first wife was Annie "Ann" Hunt born 1849 in Alabama. They married in Hardin County, TN May 13, 1875. No record of her after 1883. They had three daughters: Hattie, Elizabeth Anna, & Nellie. 3. It appears that Henry James Haynes is the one who married Francis Qualls. Henry shows as a 12 year old in the 1860 census, his parents,Hiram and Sarah are both age 30. In 1870, household 89 is Henry J. Haynes age 23 and wife Frances age 23 with son Andrew L. age 1. Hiram and Sarah are in HH 91, he is 44 and she is 40, living next door is John T. Shelby, age 38 and his family. In 1880, I find Francis Haynes, age 34 with here children, Andrew, Mary, James, Isaac, and Laura. There is a Benjamin F. Shelby living not too far away. I find an Arthur B. Haynes age 34 in the 1820 census of Madison Co., TN. 3. Henry James Haynes is the right name, not John Henry, he was born about 1847, son of Hiram Haynes and Sarah Lamb. Hiram and Sarah are buried in the Hollands Creek Cemetery. Henry James married Frances Qualls, children were Andrew, Mary, James, Isaac, and Laura, Henry James died about 1878. I did not know about Benjamin. 1. Re: [TNHARDIN] Polk Elias
    2. Elias was from Tennessee Hardin County. How he ended up in a Virginia Unit I do not know. Elias was a private in the Confederate States Army, a private of Company B 1st Battery VA Infantry. This unit was known as the Irish Battalion. It served as Provost Guard in the Army of Northern Virginia. He was a prisoner of war being held by the Army of Northern Virginia. He was paroled and let go home to remain undisturbed for the duration on April 10, 1865. His discharge records are at the Appomattox court house in Virginia. See below. Original owned by Eythle Polk Stephen of Mountain View, MO. Elias was born in Savannah, Tennessee I believe. He died in Howell County, Missouri in 1936. I have a copy of a picture of part of his unit First Virginia Battalion Co. A. Robert L King GG grandson to Elias. ************************************** See what's new at http://www.aol.com
