    2. Elaine Roosz
    3. I would like to correspond with descendants of Garrett Newman or any Newman's in the Hardin County or Henderson County area: Garrett Newman died in 1850 in Hardin County. He had quite a few children. Some of which are buried in Newman Cemetery which is near the Henderson County Line. Two children were Clark Newman who was born 1829, July 12. and Elizabeth Newman. Elizabeth married George Washington Churchwell and they left the Hardin County area to go to Saline County Ark about 1850. Elaine

    2. Charles & Jimmie Meadors
    3. Hello, I would like to share with anyone who is interested in the Brumleys of Hardin County. My g'g'grandfather was David Brumley who moved to Tennessee after the Civil War. I think I found David's second wife, Mary Ann, in the "New Harmony Cemetery Records" posted on the internet by the Hardin County Historical Society. I, also, found David's brother, Riley Y. Brumley, listed in the same cemetery records. Also, listed in the same cemetery records is Julia Brumley, wife of Barton. Barton was another of David's brothers. Records I have list Stephen Brumley and Martha Andrews Brumley as the parents of the above named brothers. Look forward to hearing from any Brumley researchers. Jimmie (Nichols) Meadors

    1. [TNHARDIN-L] Charles S. Robertson
    2. David Cagle
    3. Mary, Someone in CA sent me your post re the Robertsons. I am not related to the Robertson family as far as I know--yet. However, Charles S. Robertson was a 30 year old attorney in Savannah, Hardin Co., TN when the late war started in 1861. In 1860, he was living with his wife, Elizabeth, 22, born in MS, and sons Alexander, 2 and Robert 11 months, both born in TN. Charles became the first Capt. of "G" Co., First Confederate Cavalry Regiment, and was later promoted to Lt. Col. and was probably the highest ranking Confederate Officer who enlisted from Hardin Co. He was captured at Shelbyville in 1863 and sent to Camp Douglas IL by Dec. of that year. I loose track of Charles after that date. Would this be the same Charles S. Robertson that lived in Hardeman Co, TN? Thanks Neighbor, David ------------------------------------------- Subject: Robertson of Hardin and Hardeman Co. Date: Wed, 13 May 1998 08:49:09 -0500 From: "Mary F. Foust" <mfoust@mail.mem.bellsouth.net> To: bartnash@swbell.net Dear Tom; I am related to the Robertsons in Hardeman County and my cousin is related to the Robertsons in Hardin County. Do you know any connection that will link these two families? My gr grandmother was Naomi Elizabeth Robertson who married a Gurley. Her father was Theopilis Robertson who was the son of Charles Robertson who was the son o George Robertson who was the son of Charles Robertson. It keeps going back and I have more but my cousin who also the grandaughter of Naomi Elizabeth Robertson is also grandaughter of Marion Robertson who is listed on the data for Hardin County. We don't know the Relationship between these two Robertson families. I have a lot of datafrom a man in Mississippi on my Robertson family but it is still confusing because my own gr grandmother Naomi Elizabeth who married the Gurley called her own mother in law cousin Fannie (Her name was Frances Robertson who married a Gurley) There is a Charles S. Robertson in my family. Do you think we are connected to your data? Write me. I live in Hardeman county near Saulsbury TN. my email is mfoust@bellsouth.net Thanks Mary F. Foust tel 901-764-6851 or 901-764-3121 I hope this query makes sense.
