My grandfather - Christopher Columbus Beshires(Beshiers-Beshers) has listed on his death certificate that he was born in Hardin County in 1871. Brothers and sisters were Benjamin Field and Mary. Parents were supposedly Louis/Lewis Beshers and Margaret Roach/Roche. They supposedly lived in the Savannah area near the Shiloh battlefield. However, I cannot find anything to support this. Does anyone there have any information? Any little scrap would be much appreciated. Jim Beshires
Cindy and Greg: I couldn't forward to you--message was returned unable to deliver, but I have a found some information on DROKE in Hardin Co. You may already have it. Mrs. George DROKE, widow of George DROKE married William Buck ROACH in late 1800's. Probably around 1877-1878. There was an agreement between the two that she would have no claim on his property and he would have none on her assets. Her property was listed. I have this somewhere if you do not. sss1942@yahoo.com == "Examine all things CAREFULLY. . .I Thes.5:21 _________________________________________________________ DO YOU YAHOO!? This may be a dumb question but the Digest came through in color. Such a color as if is very hard to read, I think. Is it my computor doing it or have you made it that way? I am interested in finding any information on and about my grandmother. Texana Futrell, she married James M. Hitchcock. James was born in Hardin Co. I think. Not sure but it is listed that my G Grandfather,Jefferson Hitchcock was born there so I assume my grandfather was too. It there is anyone who might know of any Futrell's? I believe she also had a sister, Marquerite E. Futrell, who married my grandfather's brother John Hitchcock. My G Grandfather was born 1 Jan 1835, he married Mary Elizabeth Mangum, she was born 30 Jun 1837. My grandfather was born 15 Jan 1857. He and Texana are buried in Shilo, OK. Maybe he met her there and they married in OK.? I would certainly appreciate any info I could get if someone knows about this family. Thanks, Trecia (Hitchcock) Griffin

Where is the Savannah City Cemetery located in Hardin county? Is it in the city limits of Savannah? Rose
The Hardin County 1840 census lists KING WHITE and PETER WHITE in the 2nd Civil Dist. Does anyone have information on the names of their children? (I'm trying to link into ancestors.) Thanks. Inez White Michael Wylie, Texas
The 1850 Hardin Co. 2nd Civil Dist. census contains record of an ELIJAH WHITE, age 29 from NC with wife Sandra J. age 22 (born TN) and one year old Willie (born TN). Unable to locate this family after that time. Does anyone have information on this family? I'm trying to link to ancestor in the White family and see this one as a "possibility."
