    1. [TNHARDIN-L] Re: [TNWAYNE-L] NESBITT
    2. David Cagle
    3. Catherine, I am not related to the Nesbitts but I am interested in the family because William J. Nesbitt was a member of Company G, First Confederate Cavalry Regiment. William was born in Wayne Co., TN on 1 Sept. 1837. He was living at Olive Hill in Hardin Co., in 1909 when he applied for a Confederate pension. The company was organized in the fall of 1861 in Hardin County. I would like to contact anyone who had knowledge of "G" Co. Over the years, Nesbitts have lived in the eastern part of Hardin Co., in the area near Olive Hill. Members of that family remain in that area today. A daughter, not shown, has probably gotten married. I would like to correspond with descendants of this family. There were several White families living in the northeast quarter of Hardin Co. in the 1850's. Most of them appear to have arrived here form Bertie Co., NC. Some of the Whites form the Cerro Gordo area moved across the Tennessee River to Saltillo and into Decatur Co. The particular White family I am chasing, first lived at Flat Gap near Olive hill in Hardin Co., moved to Clifton in Wayne Co., and then to Decaturville in Decatur Co. In 1858, she married John Sinclair II, born Jan. 1831, died Wayne Co., TN. d. Oct. 15, 1891, Sinclair Family Farm, Wayne Co. (near Lutts). May Stockard is known to have had at least three brothers, whose names were George, Sim and Felix. Felix was killed in CW and is buried near Bowling Green, KY. I have a good Sinclair family history going back to the 1700's in Ireland which I can share. I would like to know if anyone knows if John Sinclai II had Civil War service, and if so, which army & unit. I have nothing on Mary Emily Stockards parents and need help with them. Thanks, Jim Davis

    2. Hi Hardin Cty List: I too want to say HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ONE AND ALL. I appreciate all the work that has gone into the list and those that have helped to get it online. I have gained a great amount of research from the list. And met great friends and relatives over the net. Keep up the good work. Trecia(Hitchcock) Griffin
