    1. [TNHARDIN-L] Database available of Hardin & Wayne Co TN Stricklins/Stricklands?

    3. I'd love a copy of anyone's database (ideally Family Tree Maker .ftw file - or other GEDCOM file) that includes any of the Hardin Co TN & Wayne Co TN Stricklins/Stricklands. Please send as an attachment to rstrickl@oregonvos.net. Though I haven't linked my GGF William H. Stricklin (ca1843-1918) to them, understanding them thoroughly seems to be part of the process! If this is of any interest to you, let me know. > Dennis Dennis, I'm not sure how you made your connections, but some of this is what I have from William Lindsey McDonald and the rest I put together.. I would love more on anything you have on these lines. I do not have parents for Daniel Nathan Henson in my database, but Mary (Lucy?) Alice Austin was the daughter of Augustus G. Austin and Cynthis Rebecca Lard. Another of their daughters Jossie Viola Austin is my fathers' great-grandmother. My AUSTIN lines: Stephen Austin & Dorcas Pinson, son Sanders Austin & Nancy Qualls, : Two of my lines tie in here: 1. one son of Sanders Austin & Nancy Qualls is William (Dock) Austin & Sarah Qualls, son Augustus G. Austin & Cynthia Rebecca Lard, daughter Jossie Viola Austin & Samuel (Mack) David Freshour, daughter Elizabeth Freshour & William Houston Cossey, son George Lewis Cossey & Mary Catherine Michael (also a Qualls descendant), son James Edward Cossey & Shirley Jean Wood, daughter Deborah Faye Cossey (me) & Richard (Jake) Duane Wasserburger. 2. another son of Sanders Austin & Nancy Qualls is Archibald Saunders Austin & Martha Ann Qualls, daughter LuVicey Austin & John Houston George Cossey, son William Houston Cossey & Elizabeth Freshour listed above. My grandfather George Lewis Cossey - both of his grandmothers were AUSTIN lines. Now for the LINDSEY and ANDERSON side, which is my mothers side of the family: Rebecca Ford was the daughter of James Ford Sr. and Mary Holloman. She married an *Unk Anderson and had a daughter Rebecca Anderson. Rebecca Anderson married John L. Lindsey son on Samuel Lindsey Sr. and Elizabeth Ford. Johns' mother and Rebeccas' mother were sisters. I have more on the LINDSEY line backwards, but it is bare minimum. John L. Lindsey and Rebecca Anderson had three children; Sylvester B. (Benner?) Lindsey who married Mary Ellener Hodge, Philip Lindsey who married Francis (Franky) Sharp (my line - daughter of Charles Sharp Sr. and Matilda Anglin), and William Orin Lindsey who I have listed as marrying Mary A. Boshers, daughter of Henry Boshers and Levinia Martin. All I have on Louisa, daughter of William Orin and Mary A. Boshers Lindsey is that she was born in 1838. She married to Jerry H. Henson of Waterloo. Jerry had been previously married and was a native of Hardin Co., TN. There is a Jerry Henson married to a Elizabeth Henson 7 Mar 1850 in Lauderdale Co., AL pg.562 of vol.4-6 (1839-1857). I'm not sure this is the same. There are 5 HENSON marriages in these volumes. I am descended from; LINDSEY line: 1. Philip Lindsey b. 1804 Newberry Co., SC and Francis (Franky) Sharp b. 28 Oct 1808 VA. Married 24 May 1822 Laud. Co., AL 2. J. Brewer b. abt 1847. No other info. on her. Sarah is the oldest child of Henry George Brewer b.1 Mar 1823 Lawrence Co., TN d. 8 Aug 1884 Wayne Co., TN and Mary Permelia Risner b. 10 Mar 1830 TN d. 4 Aug 1906 Wayne Co., TN. Henry and Mary were married abt 1846 Wayne Co., TN. This is from info. from a 2nd cousin Bobby Risner. I have more info on the Brewer and Risner lines, and would be interested if this is the same Sarah who married Samuel H. Stricklin. The Stricklin line is not my own, but there are ties into the Austin/Qualls/Lamb, & Milligan lines that tie in with mine, and there is a William Cossey Stricklin 10 Sep 1855- 6 Apr 1940 son of Samuel Stricklin and Annie G. Milligan, whos' middle name COSSEY is my maiden name, so I try to keep track of them. Annie is sister to Matilda Milligan who married William Henry Cossey. They are daughters of Charles Milligan and Nancy Moore. Nancy later married into the Austin lines which are mine. There is an Elizabeth Moore b. 1825TN that may be a sister to Nancy. Elizabeth married William R. Qualls and they are my great-great-great grandparents from their daughter Sarah Catherine Qualls. Elizabeth Moore died and Wm married Jane Huggins, daughter of Thomas Huggins and Nancy English. Another of Thomas and Nancys' daughters Nancy Huggins married Henry Frederick Michael. Their son Henry Newton Michael married Sarah Catherine Qualls listed above. So Henry Newton Michaels mother was sister to his wifes' step-mother. WHEW! The Michael, Stricklin, Franks, Qualls, Austin, Moore and my other lines were in the tri-corner of Wayne (2nd creek and Cypress Inn) and Hardin Co. (Walnut Grove and Hollands Creek) , TN and Lauderdale Co., AL at Gravely Springs along with my Wood, Sharp, Lindsey/Lindsay, Cossey, Freshour, White, Lamb and other surnames. I have over 5,000+ names posted on my websites but over 70,000+ names in my database. 2. Questions: Is anybody in the Hardin Co. TN-List developing an online listing of Obituaries or making available copies of the original obits, indicating the newspaper source, of folks from Hardin County? Just a thought while sitting here reading snail mail about the death of a cousin, Miss Maggie Griffin, age 97, who died the Hardin County Nursing Home on December 6, 1998. I would suggest it be someone on the ground in Hardin Co., who has access to local newspapers in the area. Are any of the Hardin County funeral homes online? My line believed to have been a brother of James, of Harrodsburg....still in the dark at this time, but route from Hardin Cty to Arkansas seems fairly clear. Anyone who can help, or can give me suggestions on how to proceed, help and/or info will be appreciated. Emily Catherine Ballard Harrod's husband may have died before she came to AR, and she may have come with her in-laws when they moved to AR.......her father-in-law (Harrod) reason for migrating to AR may have been twofold: (1) he went broke in TN, and (2) brother already living here, in Johnson Cty., AR............any help or advice appreciated.

    3. I need some information on a Robert McCormack and/or Mary Sanderson. I know Robert was born around 1846. His daughter was born in 1878 so somewhere in between he was married to Mary. I do not know if there were any other children. I get the feeling that he died shortly after his daughter Nancy was born. When Mary died it was said that on the way to the burial she sat straight up in her coffin taking off the lid. I am thinking that both died before 1915. I do know that Robert was born in Hardin County but nothing else on Mary other than her maiden name of Sanderson. Any and all help would be appreciated. Thanks Angel
