I am looking for information on Mary Christian Harlan who died near Boyds Landing , Hardin Co., in May/June 1862. I know she was at the home of J.W.. Morrow before burial and then buried somewhere close (possibly a family plot area). In the 1860 census, she and her husband were listed in Hardin Co. with 3 children, Felix, Sarah and Dalton. I'm curious about Mary and what happened to the children. C.C. Harlan later married Viola Valentine of MS, but there is no mention of Felix, Dalton or Sarah. If anybody could shed some light, I'd appreciate it. Sandy

I have just returned from three days at the McNairy Co., TN library, Hardin Co., TN library and courthousr, and Lauderdale Co., AL library and courthouse, so I have a lot of info to sift through, and can't check out the Cossey names below. Several looked promising to the lines we've Cossey researchers have collected. My "Luke Cossey" list MD as his place of birth in the 1850 Census of Hardin Co., TN. He looks to be the father or brother of all of the other Cossey's in the 1840-1860 Censuses. I did find and copy at the Hardin Co., TN library a COSSEY I hadn't copied before. I didn't realize until now that the Census year wasn't on the page I copied, but it was either the 1787 or 1797 Heads of Families--Maryland. In Prince Georges County there is a William Cossey (free white male 16 or upward) and one female (free white female). There is one John Casey (16 or upwards) with 2 males under 16, 1 female, and 17 slaves. That is all of the Cossey or Casey names in that Census. While I was at the Hardin Co. courthouse these marriage certificates I got copies of; Luke Cossey to Sarah N. Haynes 21 May 1865, Oldest Book pg. 6 by Rev. J. G. Their first child Mary Alice b. 17 Nov 1871 Walnut Grove, Hardin Co., TN d. 22 Jan 1892 married William P. Scott in 1882 (above) Mary is buried beside her parents in the Whites Creek Cemetery, Walnut Grove, Hardin Co., TN Because of there being no 1890 Census, does anyone know which William P. Scott this is? Is anyone in Hardin Co. researching CLACK, PARKIN, PHILLIPS, TIDWELL, WHITE, EAVES or BECKHAM that can help me with the above marriages? Ancestty World has 31 results for Cossey. I'm looking for John Martin born bef 1800 married Martha Walker abt 1815-1817 in IL died bef 1830 possibly Hardin Co. John could have been in KY about 1810. Martha Walker Martin married Richard Smith in 1832 probably Hardin Co. She is on the 1830 census with her parents Ephraim and Mary Beauchamp Walker. There were 5 kids from what I can figure from the census information. 2 boys born before 1818 and a girl before 1818, 1 girl between 1820-25 and a girl between 1825-30. I do know that they had a girl Pernice because Martha's brother John did LDS temple work for John and Pernice in 1845. (the family disowned John and he left in 1840 so both were dead prior to 1840). Can ANYONE help me. I really need to find and document this family. nolin christensen nolin@feist.com

The niece even called me one day to say her preacher had a book with the Bain family, she thought it was different, but it was the same book, he was Rev. Steve Bain.
