    2. Hi David Cagle, You were writting to Linda about her question on the GRIGGS, but you mentioned George GILL, and you know my interest in the GILL family... My great great grandparents John W. GRIFFIN and Mary Ann GILL. I have been unable to find when they died or where they are buried. I assume they would be in Hardin Co., because all their children were born (1851 thru 1859) and raised in Hardin Co. I have no knowledge of their siblings or their parents, and am curious of the George GILL you mentioned. 3. Who has ancestors living in this area and who were they? My ancestors include James M. JONES and his second wife, Sarah "Sallie" JONES; Sallie's parents, Lewellyn JONHSON and Caledonia KEATON; and Caldonia's parents, Reason and Sarah KEATON. I would welcome information on family, friends, and life in Nixon. Related families include BENNETT, POINDEXTER, PENNY, HAINES. My aunt, cousin, and I recently visited the Savannah area. We even found the Pergamus Cemetery, where Reason KEATON and several of his BENNETT and POINDEXTER grandchildren are buried. At the courthouse, we found an original copy of Sarah KEATON's will. The Savannah Library has microfilm of the early Savannah Courier. The Nixon correspondent faithfully and with humor contributed articles that describe family life in Nixon. Reading the articles was like travelling back in time to witness church and school activities, social life, and family events--both joyous and sorrowful. I even found what amounts to my grandfather's birth announcement. What a wonderful experience! Thanks to all of you who sent information that helped me plan the trip.
