These cemeteries, about 5 or 600 feet apart, are located just east of Loweryville on Cherry Chapel Loop off of Florence Road, (TN Hwy 69). I have worked this week to consolidate KEATON information from Brewington, Lippincott, Bradley, Moore, and Zinn sources with my own information. The information contains about 500+ descendants of Reason KEATON of Hardin County, and am double checking and adding sources wherever possible. I would like to hear from those who are researching this family. Sharon Agee Morrow Arlington, Texas [email protected]

can someone tell me where the 8th civil district of hardin county was in 1840? peace from kathy john 3:16
The 8th C. D. of Hardin Co., TN in 1840 was located in the southeast corner of the county, bounded by Wayne Co. on the east, Alabama on the south, Tennessee River on the west and mostly the 7th C. D. on the north. The major centers of population appear to be Boyds Landing and Walnut Grove. I have a picture of Annettie Tidwell who married Robert Watson. I do not find a Martha Ann Tidwell in my FTM, but my Tidwell info is not complete. My Watson family is tied to Tidwells in two ways. William Gassoway Tidwell married Matilda Katharine Payne, the daughter of Thomas C. Payne and Miranda Watson, dau. of my ggg grandfather John Watson. One of their children was Annettie Tidwell, who married first cousin once removed, Robert L. Watson. Annettie's picture can be found at: <http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~hookersbend/pic_annettie_tidwell.htm> Pictures of her children can be found at: <http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~hookersbend/pic_robt_watson_children.htm> Pat Derringer would be a good contact for this Tidwell family. The last email address I had for Pat was <[email protected]>. Please let me know if we have a connection. I have had to put a hold on most of my genealogy work due to family obligations, but still love to find new family. Jane Watson Ellis A self-appointed family historian and proud of it. I have pictures of John DETHERAGE when he was old and they resemble the younger man in the picture. I've never seen a picture of Martha Ann TIDWELL DETHERAGE and she died about 1900-1902. If I could see some old photos....even if they are unknowns, I might be able to match someone. I've done this before in other lines and have made significant discoveries this way. Thank you for the information on Limestone Creek. I am not related to Shep Thacker, but he was a neighbor of my ancestors, the Wade and Whitlow families. Samuel Allen came to live with Shep Thacker in 1840 when he was 10, married Harriet Whitlow when he was about 25 and remained in this area for the rest of his life. I hope this goes through to everyone. I must be the last one to hear about this apparently very old hoax. Just in case someone else has not heard, thought I'd let you know what happened. My mother-in-law got a letter about the "International Stolze Family 2004 yearbook". I claimed to have many centuries of valuable Stolze records, census, trees,..... Introductory price about $40. I may have been born last week, but not yesterday. For some reason, I tried to look it up on the internet. No luck. There was a picture of a yearbook that listed a parent company -- Morphcorp. I looked that up and found hundreds of listings including some from the biggest online genealogy services -- Ancestry, Genealogy,....-- ALL showing it as a scam. Evidently, if you send them your money, you get a printout of some SSDI, phone directory, and a few other things sometimes some instructions on how to look things up. The message boards I found were from people who had bought books for various surnames. What few facts they got were often wrong! I have heard others talk of getting histories in books, but this one is not a legitimate place. They take your money and send just enough to keep from being shut down again. _________________________________________________________________ Express yourself instantly with MSN Messenger! Thank You Charlotte . This is the same family. I am having a hard time keeping them straight because they all used the same given names over and over. I am hoping there is a connection to my Reddin line from Hardin County. You brought up another interesting line, when you mentioned the Creasy family. My grandfather Jasper Henry Clayton had a older brother Ulysses Samuel Clayton that married Sarah L. Creasy. Is that the same Creasy family? Do you have more on the Creasy line? Henry Hanson College Station, Tx.
I don't know if this will help anyone, but I have a connection to the Higginbotham's from around Hardin/Decatur Co., TN through my great aunt, Mary (Mollie) Williamson Creasy. Her husband's father was, Bird S. Creasy, his grandfather was, Vernon Bird Creasy, who was married to Mary Kelly/Kelley. Mary Kelley was the daughter of Ephraim Kelley and a Jane Higginbotham. Jane was born around 1795 in Elberta, Georgia. She died sometime around 1813--1820 in Decatur Co.,TN. Her father was William H. Higginbotham and her mother was listed as Dorothy Dudley (Dolly) Sandridge. Dorothy died after 1830 in Perry, Hardin Co., TN. William and Dorothy had 10 children including Jane. Jane's father, William H. Higginbotham was born in 1761 in Amherst CO., VA. He died in 1842-1850 in Shannonville, Hardin Co., TN, and is buried in the Kelley Family Cemetery near Saltillo in Hardin Co. William's father is listed as Benjamin Higginbotham, born in 1729 in Amherst Co., VA. And he died July 25,179! 1 in Elbert Co., GA. He was married to an Elizabeth Graves on Feb. 21, 1751 in Amherst Co., VA. They have 12 children listed. I found all this in searching for information on Jane Higginbotham on the LDS site and some of it may not be accurate. Anyway I hope this may help someone. There is a Charles Higginbotham farther up the tree who may be Millicent's father. Charlotte McClain Christensen
