"I found quite a few Stinsons listed in the Hardeman Co. census, but none with a son David Homer or D.H. and none with a son of the correct age." Hardeman Co TN 1880 census, transcribed by R. Harold Cox p. 01 District 1, household 2 Stinson D.N. 41 M W M Head AL NC KY marble agent Mary J. 32 f w m wife MS NC GA Hskp D.N. 7 m w s son TN AL MS at home Infant 1 f w s dau TN AL MS [suspect the 'N' is an 'H'] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Nora Martin, b. July 09, 1875 in Saulsbury (my ggrandm.) Nannie Rochelle Martin, b. 1880 Council Martin, b. abt. 1887" [note: just south of Saulsbury TN is north Mississippi, if they lived in the country, they may have lived in MS but put Saulsbury as the nearest town???] p. 124 District 9, household 196 Martin W.G? 28 m w m head MS NC NC Josephine 22 f w m wife GA GA GA Hellen 5 f w s dau MS (no birthplaces shown for parents) William 3 m w s son MS (ditto) John 1 m w s son TN NC VA [notice John's parent's birthplaces do not match above couple's birthplaces??] This is the only Martin family found with a daughter five years old... Could Nora be Helen Nora or Nora Helen?? District 9 joins district 1 where Ben. Martin and family lived...It is possible that the above couple married in MS since the first two children were born there! Mr. Cox probably still has copies of this census...and he has also done others. R. Harold Cox, Rt. 1, Box 64A, Bethel Springs, TN 38315 At the time published, Apr 1994 the copy was $25 with 2.50 postage/handling. Good Luck!
