    3. The names I'm researching in Hardeman County include: COX, DEATON, and MAXEDON. Javan COX and his wife, Mariah, came from NC to TN before 1830. First in McNairy County and then by 1860 William Bennett COX (Javan's grandson) was in Hardeman Co. William Bennett COX married Mary Catherine DEATON, in Hardeman County, 2 JAN 1860. Branson DEATON came with his family from NC to McNairy TN, arriving before 1840. By 1860 the DEATONs were in Hardeman County. Both Branson DEATON and William Bennett COX had moved their families to Fayette Co, IL by 1870. Branson's father(John) and some of the other DEATONs left TN for TX. I would like to know if the rest of the COX family were in Hardeman (see attached) and any additional information on the DEATONs. I'll be happy to share any information I have.
