I am searching for proof of the parents or lineage of Rev. Hugh Blair McMahan, b.1804 SC, m. 2 Aug 1827 to Elizabeth Hood in Lauderdale Co, AL. Lived 1830 Hardeman Co, TN; 1840 McNairy Co, TN; 1850 Claiborne Parish, LA. He 2m. Martha Ann Cochran b. GA. Both died Columbia Co., AR. His children were: David, Matthew Pleasant b. 1829, Mary Jane, Sarah C., John W., Friza Ann Eliz., Williamson R., Hugh Nelsen, James A., Martha Emily b. 1844 TN, Ary Adney b. 1847 TN; and 2nd set: Nancy Narcissa m. Pharr; George Scott Blair McMahen b. 1861 LA; Robert Wm; James Allen b. 1866 AR; and Augustus Clayton McMahen. He was a Cumberland Presbyterian Minister sent from TN to LA & AR as missionary establishing churches. George Scott Blair McMahen m. Nancy Ellen McCallum, daughter of John Clayton McCallum and Priscilla Tyler. Any information on McMahan, Cochran, McCallum or Tyler will be appreciated. Parents of Rev. Hugh Blair McMahan appear to be David and Sarah McMahan; she lived in Hardeman Co., TN in 1830; would love to find her grave???
