    3. Hardeman county does have a good library and helpful people. I don't know their hours. A Mrs. Cheshier was very helpful to me the last time I stopped. I lived in Bolivar many years ago and I had relatives from the county. A book was published about 20 years ago on the history of the county. It has many family histories. It would be good to review the book before you get there if you can find one. The Bolivar newspapers have been indexed by Cox and others..... There are a couple of good collections there but as I recall the finding aids are brief. I have not spent much time in the library so I don't know much about the depth of resources. Bolivar is a small but very nice historic looking town. lot of good history, old homes and nice folks. I am from McNairy county, which as someone else has already pointed out, is down the road about 30 miles--east. They have some good references on the Hardeman county. Also Madison county library in Jackson has some good resources that MIGHT be worth some time. You might also like to know that there are several good historical sources of information on the county at several major archives. If you get a chance and have access you might do a search for Hardeman county on a data base called First Search. Some interesting things will pop up. One major collect is related to Jones which I noticed you listed in you list of names you are researching. Wish I was going to Hardeman county :) David In Jonesboro Arkansas It has At 07:50 AM 5/13/98 -0500, you wrote: >Susie --- We were in Hardeman several years ago & I believe there is a Lib >in Bolivar.
