I am new to the list, and hope that one of you will connect or have information on my Jones family, I have traced them to Franklin Co. NC my James J. Jones we believe is the son of David Jones and his wife Patience Freeman, dau of Edward Freeman or Franklin. David Jones is the son of James Jones who died and left a will in Franklin Co. NC in 1822. He was married to wife #2 named Tamer. Any help or better yet connection to a cousin would be wonderful. My Great Grandfather George Day Jones was married to Nannie Elizabeth Mercer, dau of Joseph Alexander Mercer, most of my Mercers are buried at Maple Springs Cem. and my Jones at Uptonville. They raised a family of ten children--five boys and five girls. !Grandpa, James Jones, a former overseer, was without work, as the slaves were free, after the war, so "Pa" (John Austin Jones) bought a home about two miles south of Toone and deeded it to his father and mother.
