Dwelling 1575 is W. WIGGONS Dwelling 1603 CRAINE, A If you find a will for a John T. JONES who died before Jan 1834, I would love to know if there is mention of a Nancey (JONES ) TAYLOR. I found records of his estate sale but not a will or estate settlement. Only a list of items sold and the purchasers of these items. A couple of those buying property were Thornton JONES, Nancy JONES and my ancestor Augustus TAYLOR whose wife was another Nancy JONES. This Jan 1834 record in minutes Book 1, county Circuit court minutes is the earliest written record that I have found for Gusty and Nancy ( JONES ) TAYLOR in Hardeman CO. They get lost between selling property in Rowan CO NC in 1826 until this record of Jan. 1834.At this time I do not have a JONES family for Nancy Later, Susie Jourdan - Grant [email protected] Branches And Twigs http://home.earthlink.net Graphics Class http://members.tripod.com/Granted TNHARDEM-L - Hardeman CO. TN List Mistress -----Original Message----- From: Nancy Harwood [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Saturday, November 14, 1998 9:55 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [TNHARDEM-L] Harde-Facts In my continuing search for my elusive great-grandfather John Thomas (or John Thompson or Johnny Thompson) Jones, born June 1859 in either Tennessee or Illinois, I may have found another tiny lead. A copy of a legal document found by a cousin shows Abijah B. Crain of Hardeman County, TN in 1867 as administrator of the estate of a John T. Jones, whose widow's name was Martha. Others shown as having an interest in the estate of the deceased were "W.T. Jones, James Wiggins and wife Elizabeth, and John Jones minor heir of J.T. Jones." I am wondering if the minor John Jones could possibly be my John T. Does anybody happen to have a Hardeman County W.T. Jones or an Elizabeth Jones married to a Wiggins? BTW, Abijah B. Crain was the grandfather of Martha Elizabeth McGlothlin, who married my John T. Jones in 1880. Any information would be appreciated. Nancy Harwood Houston, TX
