My connection is JAMES CARTER and his wife SALINA ROXANNA DEAN who married in Hardeman County 4-27-1836, moved about 1838 to Tippah County MS, and in 1851 went to Texas. Don't know how long they had been in Hardeman County prior to their marriage or to whom they were related, other than possibly someone named G.B. CARTER who was "2nd Bondsman" on their marriage record (on file in Hardeman Co. Courthouse). Following is additional information about James and Salina. Wife: SALINA ROXANNA DEAN Born 6-1-1819 GA or SC (parents unknown). Died 3-10-1903 TX; Osage Cem., Coryell Co. TX (marker). Migration: 1838, went to Tippah Co. MS. 1851, went to Travis Co. TX (Webberville, east of Austin). 1868-69, went to McLennan Co. TX (Waco). Their Children: (1) WILLIAM LAFAYETTE CARTER 1837-1906; m. 1.MATTIE BARNHILL bef.1870 DeWitt Co. TX, 2.SARAH ALLISON or THOMAS, 3.MARTHA ALLISON 1882 Hill Co. TX. (2) ROBERT M. CARTER 1841-1897?; m. REBECCA KARNES 1866 Coryell Co. TX. (3) MARY CHARLESANN (ELIZABETH?) 1844-1911; m. Wm.J.G. McILHANEY 1867 Travis Co. TX. (4) SARAH ETTER CARTER 1847-1921; m. WM. SUMMERS 1867 Travis Co. TX. (5) EMILY CARTER b.1849 d.bef.1860? (6) AMANDA ROXANNA CARTER 1852-1917; m. THOMAS E.
