    3. I am researching the Pirtle and G. W. Black Families of Hardeman County.. My Grandmother was a Black before she married and moved to McNairy county. Her mother was a Pirtle. Most of the families lived north of Bolivar and around Toone and up to Vildo and over to Whiteville. I am also interested in the postal history of Hardeman County. I became interested in postal history from reading old letters. They are a window into the past. My grandmother and my grandfather exchanged love letters before they were married; she living in Vildo and he in Bethel Springs (McNairy County). Someday I hope to write a book on Postal history for Hardeman, McNairy, and Chester Counties. I collect copies or original letters "from" or "to" any place in Hardeman county (and also McNairy and Chester Counties). Currently I am working on a history of Buena Vista Methodist Church in McNairy County. The church is almost 150 years. I would welcome correspondence from anyone with interest in any of these areas. David Agnew P.S. Also interested in history of Agriculture, Education and churches in Hardeman, Chester and McNairy counties.
