    3. Hi, I'm researching some of the same names that you are. Chisum/Chism, Lewis, and Robinson. These are the surnames of my ancestors from Hardeman County. My ancestors were African-American and slaves in Hardeman County, except maybe the Chisum/Chism's they were of Native-American (Creek descent). The Chism's were from the area near Toone. I believe the Lewis's were also. I know that some of the Lewis',Chisms', and Robinson's were slave owners. Do you have any info on that. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have pictures of gravestones -- mostly Vernon Cemetery and Maple Springs -- but not limited to those two. Also, some obits from the 1950's - 1980's.... If you have any of these surnames in Hardeman Co -- please let me know!!! Maybe we can prove kinship! Also, interested in the Texas Land Company......do you know which county in Texas they were in???
